Supervisory Health System Specialist (Business Office Manger)

Major Duties:
Direct oversight for the Patient Business Office staff including; Patient Registration, Benefit Coordinators, Billing Technicians and Voucher Examiner. Position has responsibility for planning, organizing, and evaluating work assignments, completing departmental budgets, reports, approving leave and performance appraisal evaluations. Develops and implements service unit policies for the Patient Business Office program with coordination of Phoenix Area Office. Develops and implements a comprehensive internal quality control system within the program. Maintains a close relationship with Area Patient Business Office in coordinating collections for third party collection for reimbursements. Establishes and maintains an effective communication and referral system with other clinics/hospitals and contract providers concerning both elective and emergency patients. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0671-09:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree that included major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education lading to such a degree that included major study-hospital administration, public health administration with course work in health care administration. LL.B or J.D., if related that included major study-hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business of public administration or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Responsible for collections of all third party resources. Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the third party billing activities. Process a wide variety of transactions and compiling reports for third party billing activities and accounts. Conduct internal reviews and develops training programs for billing program and staff. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
