Medical Support Assistant (OA)

Major Duties:
Receives and examines alternate claims to assure claims are complete , with appropriate support documentation. Batches bills and prepares claims for submission and processing. Maintains a log of all alternate resources bills submitted for clearance and payment. Maintains general ledger of accounts receivable and overall controls for reimbursement accounts. Maintains a timely filing system which includes third party documents, remittance advice and transmittals from third party payers. Performs quarterly health care claims and completes monthly eligibility reports and submissions. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. Qualifications:
GS-0679-05:
4 years of education above the high school level OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector the following type of work and/or tasks :
Retrieving patient information to update medical records; schedule and coordinate patient appointments; and inputting updated information into electronic health records. OR Combination of education and specialized experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position. GS-0679-06:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector the following type of work and/or tasks:
Examining, verifying, and maintaining data involved in processing, tracking and generating alternate resources reimbursement; researching denied claims; and filing all pending and completed claims and correspondence relative to third-party programs. GS-0679-07:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector the following type of work and/or tasks:
Performing technical and specialized functions for an outpatient and inpatient medical billing claims; Performing quality assurance of medical records, billing claims, researching denied claims and correspondence with third party carriers for compliance. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
